Roofing and wall cladding are the largest uses of galvanized steel coil. Coils at 0.35–0.6 mm, Z120–Z275, feed roll formers that produce corrugated and trapezoidal profiles.
The zinc layer shields the sheet during decades of rain and sun, and sacrificial protection seals fastener holes and cut edges. For coastal or industrial sites, add a paint system over the zinc for a 25-year-plus finish.
Specify yield strength for wind load, and confirm the coating survives profiling without cracking.
